NHQG Stitch & Sew

We have scheduled the first meeting of the NHQG Stitch & Sew group on September 28th from 1:30 to 4:30pm.at the Royal Canadian Legion.
We welcome anyone with a love of handwork and those who might like to try it.

Our group consists of longtime needle workers who love to share their tips and enthusiasm as well as beginners who might benefit from shared skills.

For this first meeting we invite needle workers to bring a project for the first meeting and during the afternoon we can discuss plans for the forthcoming year.  In the past we have had outside instructors to show us techniques like smocking and we were guided to make little birds out of felted wool. Members have led the group to learn how to make embroidered greeting cards, redwork embroidery, using crayons to enhance an embroidered picture and making a box incorporating a needlepoint project as part of the top cover.

Some Guild members have expressed an interest in hand quilting.  Nina Stahlschmidt is an accomplished hand quilter and would love to share that with others who are interested in a new quilting adventure.
