Guest Speaker: Judy Lyons – “Canada’s Forgotten Artifacts: 1967 Centennial Quilts”

Judy Lyons, from Burlington Ontario, is a specialist in the appraising of traditional and non-traditional quilts and fiber art. She is certified with the American Quilters Society and a member of the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles. She is a quilter, a quilt collector and lecturer on the history and valuation of quilts. She is a member of the Canadian Quilters’ Association and has served on the Board of Directors.

Judy Lyons will share some of her knowledge captured in her self-published book “Canada’s Forgotten Artifacts: 1967 Centennial Quilts”, talking about what was happening then and what we see in our quilts and what you should be looking for when you look at old quilts.  Her book will be available for sale at our meeting for $45 including taxes.
