Guest Speaker: Patti Carey – Interesting Quilts from Unusual Fabrics
Our March meeting will welcome Patti Carey to share her quilts with us. Her lecture will focus on “Interesting Quilts from Unusual Fabrics”.
The following day she will present a workshop on “Curvaceous Curves”. This promises to be totally different from the curves that Al Cote is bringing to us in February.
Patti is currently the Vice-President-Public Relations for Northcott Fabrics. She has had many roles in her 38 year tenure with Northcott and feels blessed to be involved in an industry that is filled with so many kind and generous people.
Her mother taught her to sew at the age of 7 and she sewed her wardrobe all through high school and beyond. She began to quilt in 1987 when Northcott transitioned from fashion fabrics to quilting fabrics and quickly became hooked. She has been designing quilts for Northcott and for numerous quilting magazines since 1995. Patti specializes in designing quilts using panels and border stripes. In 2019 her first collection of fabric “Vino” was released followed by “Canoe Lake” in 2021.
You can check out her website at www.pattispatchwork.com
Although Patti resides in Collingwood ON, she loves to travel and shares her knowledge with guilds and quilting conferences throughout North America.
Be sure to join us at 7:00 on Wednesday March 26th. Registration for her workshop will begin at our January meeting.
