Guest Speaker: Pauline Grondin – Piecing Together Canada’s History Through Quilts
Pauline is an award-winning professional storyteller, historical interpreter, heritage performer and musician with a passion for quilting.
Pauline has performed across Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Great Britain since 1985. In recognition of the many years Pauline has researched, written, and presented programmes on Canadian history her name has been included on the Ireland Canada Monument in Vancouver B.C.
She is also the recipient of the Halton Heritage Award, the Burlington Junction Appreciation Award, and the Hamilton-Wentworth Heritage Award. Her stories and music have been recorded for Route 1812, a driving route linking historical sites and cultural institutions in Southwestern Ontario, Toronto, and the Niagara regions.
Pauline is the Social Historian for the Southwestern Ontario Barn Quilt Trail and a member of the Canadian Quilters’ Association
One of her articles was published in the Canadian Quilter Magazine in 2014. Pauline’s presentation will take you on a journey through the memories of time to explore a most spiritual and important piece of Canada’s history, the art of quilting.
