Guest Speaker: Tania Denyer – Creative Quilts

Tania is a textile artist and illustrator with a foundation in quilting. Fabric and thread are her preferred canvas and paint, and her favorite question is “I wonder what this would look like in fabric?” Tania recently received a City of Hamilton artist grant and will be creating a textile art series featuring food found on the street, entitled “I wonder what happened here?” Tania firmly believes that textile art deserves its place alongside all other forms of art, and that quilters have considerable skills and knowledge to contribute. Tania lives in Hamilton where her explorations of the city and interactions with its varied and often creative citizens, contributes to and continues to inspire her art.
