Workshop – Debra Rolfe – Stack and Whack


Debra Rolfe has been quilting since the late 90’s. A new hobby was needed after she sold her horse’s. Her sister-in-law took her to the sewing and needlework show in Toronto and she fell in love with he quilts. Teaching gives her joy.

Stack ‘n Wack Workshop

The Stack ‘n Wack pattern is based on the stack and whack technique first put forth by Bethany Reynolds.  More about this technique can be found in Bethany Reynolds first book “Magic Stack ‘n Whack” or her newer book

“Stack-n-Whackier Quilts.

Supplies: 

All fabrics are 100% cotton and 115 cm (40”) wide.

Main fabric – 6 repeats of the printed design as measured along one selvedge.  This is approximately 4.5 yards.  The printed design repeat must be at least 12 ½”. Prints with close designs about fist size with a number of colours work best.  Batiks are not suitable.

Thread for piecing

Flat or flower head pins

Rotary cutting equipment – mat at least 18” x 24”, 6 x 24” ruler with 60 degree line, new blade in cutter,

Sewing machine in good working order with accurate ¼” foot.

Usual sewing notions – scissors, ripper, etc.

DO NOT WASH your fabrics.
